Open Digital Culture Inquiries
As digital media increasingly prevades life around the globe, it alters relationships, institutions, social structures, and cultural practices. It also begets new types of cultural production, dissemination, and consumption which are interwoven into the larger fabric of emergent 21st century culture. This is not to overstate the impact of digital networks and technology, nor to celebrate developing digital culture simply for its 'newness' and perceived revolutionary potential. Instead, it is to deeply examine and document the origins and movements of a culture very much in formation, with particular attention paid to its unique facets and users.
