ghosts to inhabit j.walter wilson, rhode island hall

lots of construction going on at brown this year. it’s actually kinda ridiculous. not only does the swimming team have to use a temporary “aquatics bubble,” not only is most of the pembroke campus still boxed off with construction scrim, but j. walter wilson, the still-under-construction “student resource building” is starting to develop a ghost problem.

in the image above, procured from the university’s facilities page, the ghost problem is documented with shockingly vivid photographs. this particular ghost, who appears to be a student from the 1990′s (judging from the gap apparel), has discrete human features and appears friendly. this in sharp contrast to the shadow infestation that has apparently taken over rhode island hall.

my thoughts? all this construction is just cover-up; brown doesn’t want you to know about the portal to hell they found while digging up waterman street. that action went against local wisdom, admonitions, and the ancient providence: don’t dig up the streets, it just makes everything worse. and it may release ghosts into your academic buildings, which isn’t helping anybody but the contemplative studies initiative.
